Dr. Ann Olivarius is the Chair of McAllister Olivarius, a leading firm in the US and UK representing victims of sexual misconduct and discrimination in employment, universities, hospitals and other institutions. She was also Managing Partner of AO Advocates, which in 2022 was fully incorporated into McAllister Olivarius, a firm specialising in child abuse. McAllister Olivarius has received Lexcel accreditation since 2011 and was ranked among the top 2.5% of English law firms for client care. For her achievements in law, finance, philanthropy, and campaigning for social justice, Ann has been honored by the American Civil Liberties Union, YaleWomen, and the British scientific journal Nature. She is a Donaldson Fellow at the Yale School of Management, and a leading member of three groups representing some of the world’s most prominent women in business and industry: Women for Women International, She: Impacts, and Women Moving Millions (WMM). In December 2022 she was approved an Honorary King’s Counsel for her “leading role in the fields of women’s rights, sexual harassment and sexual abuse” and was awarded Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Year’s Honours List in recognition of her services to Justice, Women and Equality.Ann is founder of The Rhodes Project, which evaluates the lives and careers of Rhodes Scholars, and is a former adviser to the Rhodes Trust. Both privately and through the advocacy of the 1752 Group, she has helped provide universities with guidance on how best to respond to sexual harassment and assault allegations. She has served on the boards of Women Moving Millions, openDemocracy, and Autistica, and was active at the formation of the UK Women’s Equality Party. During her career as a financier and economic adviser, Ann advised Bill Gates on conducting the roadshow after Microsoft’s IPO in 1986, drafted the strategic plan for Ross Perot’s 1992 presidential campaign, and was CEO of a medical foundation with assets she grew over four years from $7 million to over $100 million. As a lead negotiator for Mexico at the signing of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), she introduced the concept of a feminist foreign policy at the trade negotiations, later adopted by countries across the world.
