About Agustin Ortega

I’m a phD in Robotics, Computer Vision, and Control,i got my degree at the Institut de Robotica i Informatica Industrial UPC-CSIC, Barcelona, Spain. I received the Bsc. Degree in Computer Sciences from the Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla, Mexico in 2002. In 2005 i received the Msc. degree in Computer Sciences from the Instituto Nacional de Astrofisica Optica y Electronica, in Mexico.My research is focused on the use of dense range data using laser, but typically coming from lidar sensing devices ofhigh resolution, together with image sequences. Those data are used to improve segmentation,classification, recognition, and 3D reconstruction tasks of dynamic objects and people in thescene. Also sensor fusion of lidar data and image sequences for recognition and segmentationthat improved results for SLAM in highlydynamic scenes, with the added benefit of accurate 3D reconstruction of the dynamicobjects. Principally in calibration of an outdoor cameranetwork using fusion of information as images and lidar data, 3D segmentation of laserrange data for planes extraction, and dynamic object recognition with images and rangedata.Experience of more of 15 years working with computer vision and 8 years in robotics. Has knowledge of computer programming for embedded systems.I have international experience due i participated in European, American and Chinese projects. Specialties: Programming: high level C++ Python, Java, Shell, etc.Robotics and computer vision tools: OpenGL, OpenCV, ROS, PCL.Knowledge: Image Processing,Computer Networks ,Hardware/software Maintenance Matlab,Maple, Ubuntu, Windows 98/XP/2000/Vista/7, OS XLanguages: Spanish(Native), English(High), French(High).
