I work alongside MD-PhDs and clinicians at UNC School of Medicine and Piedmont Health Center. We are conducting an IRB-approved study to assess social health needs (social determinants of health). We are also considering the language individuals needing food assistance use to communicate their health.As a care administrator and research assistant, I organize focus groups and recruit participants, work alongside the research team for data analysis, and identify contact information for Medicare/Medicaid and community-based organizations interested in utilizing technologies.

Currently at Level The Playing Field, I am Completing intensive tasks, including leadership training, public speaking, and effective networking. While also creating and presenting mini presentations based on the cohort learning tasks; such as imposter phenomenon, resume building, and presentation development to name a few. Simultaneously completing a professional development practicum at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

As a researcher, it was my duty to collaborate with researchers to evaluate pre-existing literary works on complications associated with Sickle Cell Anemia; in order to analyze treatment options for Sickle Cell Intrahepatic Cholestasis and communicate the most effective methods. Ultimately, compiled the first centralized literature review on Intrahepatic Cholestasis in Sickle Cell Anemia published in the journal of the National Medical Association.

As an Integrated Health Care Management Intern, I collected and analyzed public health data and developed recommendations to improve community members’ health. Secondly, I evaluated and addressed risk factors contributing to community health disparities to later facilitate four engaging forums and community focus groups. As an outcome of the focus groups, I gained the ability to proactively identify community healthcare needs and proposed interventions for actionable concerns.
