- See 3-4 patients/hr (all ages), employing appropriate patient management skills and using online resources (such as UpToDate) as necessary- Take patient history; perform employment, student, sport, insurance physicals; order, perform, and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic studies (x-rays, urinalysis, Rapid Strep, Rapid Flu, ECGs); determine, administer, and prescribe appropriate medications as needed (consult about drug properties and interactions, adverse effects, treatment alternatives); record relevant information in the electronic medical record - Evaluate and manage: infectious diseases (URI, pneumonia, otitis, sinusitis, gastrointestinal issues), urogynecological issues (UTI, BV, candidiasis, STIs), orthopedic issues, dermatology issues (dermatitis, cellulitis, drug eruptions, viral exanthems, allergic reactions), respiratory issues (acute asthma exacerbations), cardiac and vascular issues (hypertension, venous stasis, CVA), ophthalmic issues (conjunctivitis, corneal abrasions), epistaxis, minor psychological issues, minor pain issues - Perform minor procedures and surgery: wound care with appropriate local procedural anesthetic management (laceration and abscess care, burn and abrasion debridement), ear cerumen/toe nail/ring/foreign body removal (ears, nose, rectum, soft tissue, throat, inguinal), subungual hematoma drainage (cautery, scalpel), injections (local anesthesia, digital nerve block, vaccinations), urogynecological examination (speculum exam, specimen collection), ophthalmic examination (Snellen chart, Wood’s lamp) - Instruct and counsel patients regarding mental and physical health, including but not limited to: diet, hygiene, disease course/prevention/treatment, and normal development - Refer patients to appropriate specialists, health facilities, agencies, and resources as necessary- Participate in ongoing formal and informal CME to advance knowledge base and maintain skills competency as well as required licensure and certification

- Provide and coordinate ongoing comprehensive home-based primary care and care management services to adult and geriatric patients in collaboration with the external PCP and specialists; the rest of the CCA Primary Care Team, which may include RNs, LPNs, Medical Assistants, Psychiatry NPs, social workers, behavioral health, rehabilitation, and health education specialists; and outside agencies, including social service agencies, VNAs, etc. - Provide urgent/sick/episodic, post-hospital, and palliative care via history taking, physical examination, diagnosis, and treatment (including pharmacotherapy). - Perform risk adjustment by documenting Annual Comprehensive Assessments on members to ensure that CCA is properly funded and that quality, patient-centered care is provided. - Provide all of the aforementioned services during weekends and holidays, including visits as needed, in an on-call rotation with NP/PA and RN colleagues - Provide expert-level comprehensive documentation in the clinical record to reflect the true complexity of each member’s biopsychosocial condition. - Participate in ongoing educational activities and formal CME courses to advance knowledge base and skills competency and to maintain required licensure and certification- Ensure that clinical service delivery meets CCA standards as outlined in policies and standing operating procedures. Review quality metrics and develop plans to address deficiencies or substandard outcomes accordingly

- Render basic life support for medical and trauma patients in an urban 911 system with >110,000 calls/year, working in concert with other public safety and social service agencies- Interview patients to elicit nature and history of complaint; interpret and stabilize clinical signs and symptoms of disease or trauma; monitor vital signs; practice pain management; prepare patient for transport to hospital- EMT-Telecommunicator: Triage 911 calls and dispatch ambulances in a 31-unit system; direct ambulance-to-hospital communications for 61 cities and towns in Region 4 via CMED software
