Red Viking Group designs and builds high end, custom, powertrain testing equipment for the military, aerospace, and automotive industries.

Manage global Powertrain test projects. Responsibilities include assessing the mechanical engineering requirements, generating manpower and budget forecasts
for engineering resources, leading the execution of the mechanical design, build, assembly, installation and buy‐off with the goal of providing innovative and robust technical designs exceeding all customer requirements. • Managed 12 employees and numerous outside engineering resources to complete four concurrent projects across three continents with a total value of 20 Million USD. • Traveled extensively to the UK and China developing a global sourcing strategy, reducing project lead times, minimizing shipping costs and increasing profitability. In China, commercial lead times were reduced by as much as 30% and in some cases costs were reduced by up to 50%.• Traveled to existing and potential customer locations establishing complete mechanical scopes of work; developed conceptual designs and worked closely with our Proposal & Estimating group to produce quotes for 20 million USD in new work resulting in more than 2 million USD in order acquisition.• Lead specialized teams of engineers to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues during the warranty period of previous contracts. Established and maintained the highest levels of customer satisfaction culminating in the classification of “Preferred Supplier” status for the Comau Powertrain group.

Provided detailed engineering analysis for Powertrain test projects by working closely with Mechanical and Electrical Project Engineers as well as department leaders to understand customer requirements and work through design and performance buy off issues.

Performed design reviews, consulted on LEED 
building qualifications and generated comprehensive inspection and commissioning plans for HVAC components related to commercial and residential projects.
 
Projects ranged in size from 5,000 to more than 300,000 sq. ft.

Responsible for the debug and commissioning of electrical systems and PLC software for automated welding and assembly tooling. 

Managed the day to day activities of all electrical, mechanical and robotic technicians 
ensuring the system exceeded the goals set forth in the project timeline.

Assisted in all aspects of welding research done in the Research and Development center in Warren MI.

 Developed 2D and 3D designs for equipment, established weld schedule parameters and conducted resistance spot welding trials as needed.
