Hired by a startup in the trucking industry (Transfix.io), handling freight all over the US, Canada, and parts of México. As the most senior engineer in the Carrier Experience team, my responsibilities included:- Maintaining the processes and API endpoints that handled real time data on hundreds of thousands of drivers and shipments a day, with a 30 second resolution, storing the data in either our PostgreSQL database or Snowflake clusters.- Automating the forwarding of processed data to our different partners, all having different ways to receive data (REST, FTP, RPC, S3), syncing every 5 minutes- Leading a project to make new Shipper onboarding “self-serve”, as it required an engineer to add the relevant data to the system, saving about 100 engineering hours a month.- Participating in the migration of REST calls to GraphQL and worked closed with the Frontend team re-designing the user facing homepage, increasing user engagement and reducing canceled shipments, due to increased visibility and improved dashboards

Was brought in to maintain this startup's first product and build the MVP and the production version for the second one, which was targeted to HR departments in large companies to motivate employees based on their daily physical activity. I was tasked with:- Integrating many 3rd party APIs, like Garmin, Fitbit, Google Health and Apple Health, Polar, etc. I developed the system to sync participating employee’s data in real-time for clients like Marina Bay Sands, Development Bank of Singapore, and NUHS- Setting up Celery workers to handle all of the data coming in from different providers, saving it asynchronously in data lakes for later processing as well as creating the processing system that assigned participants points based on their daily physical activity- Designing and implementing the backend services, web frontend clients, both native mobile clients (Android and iOS), and database schemas

Worked for this startup in the Biotech industry. I was hired to build the MVP and production version of their real-time reverse auction application, targeted at research laboratories. Allowed universities to obtain their supplies with the lowest price possible. I was in charge of:- Using Django Channels to handle websocket connections, to guarantee that prices and bids were updated in real time and porting this server to Phoenix once it became available- Setting up Celery workers to process all of the data generated for every auction- Generating reports based on auction data, one for us, and another one for the university, so they could check how much money and time they saved and the number of participants in their auction- CI Pipeline setup for easy deployments
