With over 5 yrs of research experience in the Biological Sciences, I sharpened my skills to ask questions, design research, document observations, analyze data, present results, and pitch for funding. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, I discovered my deep love for teaching Biology. As a licensed paraprofessional educator, and a mother of a neurodiverse child, I have effectively leveraged technology and visual design skills to improve accessibility and provide inclusive learning experiences for children with social-emotional deficits and one or more disabilities.I have 20 years of experience managing my own home-based school of South Indian classical music. I have built a consistent student base over the years, and enjoy my relationship with students. Digital equity in education is an area that always interests me, and prompted me to study User Experience Design and Research. I have 2+ years of composite experience in the IT UX/UI space, 3 capstone projects researching and designing responsive UIs for mobile, tablet and desktop screens, designing projects for the social good, working UX generalist roles in a tech startup, and providing content marketing strategy for non-profit organizations. Qualitative UX research, formative user research, Persona creation, building user journey maps, design thinking and ideation are my specialty areas.
