• Served as the financial expert for the Authority and advised the Executive Director on all financial matters to assure solvency, economic health, and vibrancy of the Agency. • Planned, supervised, and directed the day-to-day activity of ten Finance Department staff including Senior & Junior Accountants, Financial Analyst, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Administrative Assistant and Clerks. • Prepared and submitted to the Board of Directors and Executive Staff timely and accurate management reports, including financial statements (GAAP & GASB), projections, and budget variance analysis of financial performance to support management decisions. • Responsibilities included managing the fiscal integrity of federal funds, treasury functions, accounting, reporting, cash management, budgeting, and liaising with auditors of the Authority. • Monitored checks and balances to ensure compliance with internal controls policies and procedures and new and existing laws and regulations.• Supervised preparation of all budgets and financial reports.• Pursued timely collection of all funds due to the Authority and ensured proper and timely disbursement of funds per HUD regulations. • Reviewed and analyzed the financial impact of new and established Authority policies. • Performed routine supervisory duties including selection of new employees, performance evaluations, employee discipline, training, and achievement of goals. • Conducted staff meetings with team and/or other division employees to communicate information about the programs or to train staff in specific areas. • Attended professional meetings, seminars and conferences to keep abreast of new regulations and financial concepts in assisted housing programs.
