Sony Broadcast At Aljazeera Ajwt Project, Doha

To assist in the management in running the AJWT site for Sony Broadcast. The work involves ensuring the site is safe for all personnel. working closely with the AJWT team for all aspects of power supply, air conditioning, civil engineering and construction, Clean site access and resolving technical and non technical issues as they arise for all areas within the AJWT site for Sony Broadcast. I was appointed by Sony PMO as the Health and Safety Manager as well as my other duties on site.

I worked at the BBC W1 for dB Broadcast designing the Radio weather and translation suites as well as general project engineering (Autocad updates and fixing snags)

I was the technical lead and design engineer for the Adsmart project in Osterley. To design, install and commission SD and HD compression test systems and a 10 channel automation test system based on Harris and Omneon servers/raid arrays.

Astro Arena, Kl, Malaysia

To rebuild an ex BBC 25 tonne OB truck into the largest HD OB truck designed and built in Malaysia for Astro APSB. 12 HD GV Cameras, system designed to have up to 3 EVS slo mo's, 2x super slo mo camera systems, 48 channel digital audio desk and all external audio circuits via Ethercon connection and remote breakout boxes. Complete new air con systems throughout. All external lockers rebuilt and the roof repaired and resealed plus a high quality paint finish.

To assist in the start up of a new systems division within WTS to oversee all system proposals, new and existing system designs through to completion, commissioning, testing and training (when required). To kit out and put into place health and safety systems for a new factory, manage and put into place everything a new factory needs to design and build systems, flyaway's and OB/SNGs. To provide regular updates on the project proposals database and to assist all the sales engineers either in the UK or abroad.

2007-2008Design and project manage the editing systems of the Sky Italia project for Sony Broadcast. Since the beginning of 2007, I have been involved with the design and installation of the post production system and related storage, reference and routing systems. The system has included all varieties of Avid suites, FCPs and Sony linear edit suites.

I joined TGV Doha in May 2006 to work on the Al Jazerra AJE project based in Qatar. The entire system was HD for the new English Channel being installed in Doha. During September 2006, I was asked to take over as Project Manager at AJI London for the final phase of acceptance through to on air and snagging of the system (post on air date).

To oversee systems from concept through to completion of automated broadcast systems. Most of my work was in Slovakia and India where complex and varied systems were beinginstalled.

Since the completion of the system for the MOI in Saudi Arabia for EML-TI Limited, I have been working in the roles of either assisting on or designing and managing various system projects in Dubai, Zambia and Saudi Arabia. The last system I designed and project managed was for a studio and OB truck design, built for the BBC and installed in Basra, Iraq.I worked for Miranda in Wallingford within the manufacturing area to resolve manufacturing bottle necks and improve output.

EML-TI limited based; My role within EML was to oversee all aspects of the procurement of all installation materials and to manage the factory and manage "on site" production and wiring teams.This involved working closely with suppliers e.g. Omneon, Pinnacle, Leitch, Crystal Vision and Quartz to name but a few of the many suppliers used in the project. Also with materials suppliers and in most cases negotiating favourable pricing and scheduled deliveries, maintaining close contact throughout the life of the project.In the case of Quartz Electronics Limited I was appointed as one of their international trainers (operational and maintenance) and I provided on site training for our customer and the eventual end user, the Ministry of Information, S. Arabia.I managed the production and wiring teams based at the two UK factories to pre-build the studios etc. Also provided Health and Safety systems plus fire and security alarm systems build up of the factory prior to starting the project. On site I was senior engineer, worked on testing/debugging and commissioning parts of the studio system, and assisted in handing over the system to our customer.
