I am an entrepreneur with 35 years experience in Electromagnetic and Antenna arena and started a consulting company in 1990 and moving to antenna manufacture and sales. I founded Poynting Innovations (Pty) Ltd in 1996 and Poynting Antennas (Pty) Ltd in 2001. We built Poynting Antennas to 150+ employees and listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JS) Alternative Exchance (AltX) in June 2008 as CEO of Poynting Holdings. After building Poynting Holdings from a R20m ($2m) in 2010 to R450m ($45m) market capitalisation in 2014 I exited Poynting Holdings by buying out Poynting Antennas in personal capacity. The listed company which retained the highly profitable and international Defence Antenna division changed name to Alaris Holdings. Poynting Antennas continues as private company under my guidance. This split allowed Poynting Antennas to continue design, manufacture and sales of innovative antenna and wireless consumer products unhindered by public company constraints.My aim in life is also the company motto "Beyond a Connected Life". I am passionate about using African ingenuity and experience to build products which benefit the continent and are of sufficient value to export to the rest of the world. My aim is to turn Poynting into a world class company and to create products and solutions which make a real difference to Africa and the rest of the world. I am inspired by the development of clever and cool products and technology. I love daring entrepreneurial efforts which turn such technology into commercial success.
