The Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (UN-APCICT/ESCAP) was established on 16 June 2006 in Incheon, Republic of Korea as a regional institute of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP). Along with the number of course enrolments in the APCICT Virtual Academy, in total, over 17,000 participants from more than 120 different countries and territories have been reached through APCICT and APCICT-co-organized events and training. The participants of the workshops/events were primarily high- and mid-level government officials and other development professionals. Over 80 percent of the participants who attended the APCICT training workshops and were surveyed expressed that the training content met their needs.
