I have been involved with the flower industry since the year 2000 and have had the opportunity to work with many types of companies: large, small, successful, not successful, forward-thinking, old-school, growers, importers, bouquet makers, wholesalers, etc. This has given me a very good understanding of how the industry works in many different aspects such as production, procurement, sales, logistics, marketing, e-commerce, quality control, accounting and a couple more things.On the other hand I have been a techie since I was born. My first interaction with technology was with an Atari 2600 when I was 4 years old (it's the one that was black with simulated wood on the front and the joystick with the orange button - simply awesome!!!). Two years later that evolved into an Atari 130XE which had a tape drive and a 5 1/4" drive. In the late 90's I started working with the web and have focused there ever since.Today I specialize in the analysis, design, development and implementation of web solutions for the floral industry through my company, Vertical Technologies. Since late 2009 we started working on a project called "Komet Sales" since we saw the need for a user-friendly web based system that could help importers and wholesalers manage their operations.On the technology side I have a solid experience with cloud computing using Amazon Web Services (on which I got involved with as of 2007).My most important asset is being able to communicate with people in order to listen and brainstorm about their dreams/objectives. Then taking this information and working with a team of people and delivering a project that actually works and fills in the original needs. Although I can do this in many areas I have decided to focus all of my efforts in the floral industry.
