Research Scientist
I am involved in neuroimaging data analysis. I develop and implement the pipelines to analyze the neuroimaging functional MRI and diffusion data of healthy population and stroke population, using data preprocessing techniques. I also assist in the imaging aspects of personalized neuromodulation projects and work on projects using network control theory to understand the brain-behavior relationship in primary progressive aphasia.

Graduate Student Researcher
I have been involved in the setup of a research project on Deep Brain Stimulation. The main aim of the project is to study the mechanism of deep-brain stimulation as a treatment of Parkinson's disease and the pathology of Parkinson’s disease. A unique hypothesis is to be tested. It is tested by simultaneous electrophysiological signal recordings using micro-electrodes within the brain areas affected by PD and the cerebral cortex, during deep-brain stimulation surgery in human patients. The electrophysiological data has been collected from four DBS patients. The analysis of electrophysiological signals will be done using MATLAB software. I completed IACUC, CITI training and learnt to use Vicon motion capturing system for gait analysis. I have developed and written the IRB proposal and SOP for the clinical research study. As a precursor to understanding the DBS signal data, I have collected data from another existing data acquisition system containing electrophysiological data, recorded when finding the target neuron for stimulation during DBS surgery. I analyzed the data using MATLAB's signal processing techniques. The nature of the DBS signal is thus understood. We thus, get an idea of what to expect in the analysis of clinical research study electrophysiological data.
