As a doctoral researcher, I focus on the development of III-nitride nanowire optoelectronic materials ande devices.Activity highlights:• Developed the semiconductor process for nanowire-based optoelectronic devices on amorphous silica substrates.• Performed the servicing and daily operations of an ultra-high vacuum equipment, the molecular beam epitaxy (MBE)• Performed extensive structural, optical, and electrical characterization for semiconductor materials and devices, including optical and electrical equipment setup and maintenance.• Collaborated widely with other students and research staffs with various technical and cultural backgrounds on a wide range of topic ranging from chemical treatments of materials, photoelectrochemical water splitting, to performance improvement of light emitting devices.• Extensively performed data processing and analysis using OriginPro, and implemented an automated process that cuts down data processing time by about 10 times.Achievement highlights:• Published 19 papers in peer-reviewed international journals, four of which as a first author.• Presented in three international conferences.• Granted one US patent application, with two additional patents currently under application process. My main focus is the development of a slotted waveguide array antenna.Research highlights:•Performed a reverse engineering for the control circuit and RF circuit of a commercial VSAT system using vector network analyzer, oscilloscope, and circuit simulation software (ADS, CST).•Calculated the value of the antenna array elements for beamforming purposes using a combination of genetic algorithm and Taylor line method. The code was written using MATLAB.•Designed and fabricated a slotted waveguide array antenna working at Ku-band using CST, and HFSS. Performed antenna testing using a vector network analyzer and radiation pattern measurement within an anechoic chamber. Show less
