About April Arrasate

As Founder and CEO, April has launched Seed- Boston's only Curated Cannabis Market. Seed combines the broadest variety of THC and CBD products available in the state with a unique and elevated customer experience. Seed is a women and minority owned business with an emphasis on promoting the accommodation of differences through fairness of process and result.Co-located with Seed, April has launched the Core Social Justice Cannabis Museum where guests are invited to engage with the insanity and inequity of drug policy in America through a series of changing exhibits. As Executive Director of the non-profit entity, April and an all-star Curating Council are currently showing the museum's first exhibition, American Warden: an exploration of incarceration in America against the backdrop of cannabis prohibition. April is an experienced entrepreneur in the cannabis industry. In 2013, following the loss of her Mother, she assembled a winning team, application and brand, Curaleaf, to win one of four licenses to cultivate cannabis in the highly regulated state of Connecticut. As Founder and COO of one of the first commercial cannabis operations on the East Coast, April sought to bring the grace of cannabis to those who are in pain or facing death. She and her team brought that license from permit to production in less than six months and established a robust product line that included flower, vapes, topicals, edibles and concentrates. She exited successfully in 2017 and is now a shareholder of the public company CURLF, a shrine to her late Mother, Rachel.April is also owner and founder of Core Cannabis, which harnesses her legal, pharmaceutical and cannabis industry operational experience as well as a team of experts to pursue national and international business development opportunities in cannabinoid products, research and drug policy initiatives. April is a Connecticut and South Carolina licensed attorney and is of counsel in the state of Florida. She is also Founder of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Medical Marijuana Committee. As chair she provided 5 years of Continuing Legal Education to legal professionals on cannabis related topics. Prior to her legal and entrepreneurial career, April worked in the biotech arena. She has worked in the field of pharmaceutical synthesis with Genzyme and with Harvard Medical School’s Channing Laboratory.
