Throughout the residency program I experimented with ethnography to research data centres. I looked closely at the collapsing boundaries between digital data and heat, between media and energy. I undertook fieldwork in Tallaght, Ireland using participant observation and interviews to examine how a waste heat redistribution scheme has changed the conception of the data centre in the heart of town.I also interviewed the designers behind Low-Tech Magazine, who created a solar-powered website, in order understand how sustainable, small tech infrastructure may function at scale.I worked with a design team to create a selection of objects that represent my findings. These objects include the "Data Do Nothing Machine" a digital heating device, and "The Data Soup Co-op" a speculative proposal for a community-owned digital warm bank.

Content strategy and creation for in-game, web, and social platforms.User advocacy. Represented player standpoint and advised designers/product managers based on this insight. Raised game issues reported by the community in real-time. Researched the player community through immersion. Innovated reporting methods and presented reports with qualitative player insights, complemented by quantitative social media metrics.Created Voice and Tone guidelines. Defined Community values and persona for 3 different Dead by Daylight games, for Community Managers to reference when copywriting. Helped bridge the gap between User Research and Community insights. Shadowed User Research team throughout their pipeline and applied UX research methods to community strategy. Worked with major horror franchises' licensors (e.g. SAW, Halloween, Silent Hill) to create fresh, entertaining content for socials, web, and in-game. Public relations; represented developers to players. Spoke with fans directly through livestreams, social platforms, and forums to ensure they feel informed and listened to.
