I recently completed the Social Services Worker 2-year program at Algonquin College. I am currently waiting for my diploma to be mailed to me. I work with the homeless community, youth experiencing homelessness, and individuals living with concurrent disorders. Once I receive my diploma, I will register as a Social Service Worker.

I immensely enjoyed working as a Personal Support Worker; however, during the active covid, I worked through it regardless of staffing shortages and supplies. I refuse to leave my team behind, especially people who are venerable and do not have their families or a say in what happens to them. I have a big heart for people and will put my life on the line for them but also sacrifice my comfort to support individuals and see them move forward. I was one of the workers the nurses pulled off the floor to work with behaviours ranging from violent to extreme frustration and outbursts. I am willing to intervene in crises because I believe the person needs to be heard regardless if it is logical or not, according to reports. I am eager to learn and learn from my mistakes because I want to grow and see people succeed in their lives. I love teamwork and working as a team.
