While I was a full time student, I also maintained a part time job for majority of my college career. The main one included being a team member at Dairy Queen for a little over three years. Working in a fast food restaurant is commonly frowned upon by people due the stereotypes of it being a low skilled job. However, I politely disagree. Through working a fast food job I got the opportunity to learn so much more than what I had originally expected. I was able to sharpen up many skills such as multitasking, working in a fast-pace environment, interpersonal/social skills, customer service, communication, and so much more. Not to mention it was one of the few jobs that was willing to be flexible with my college schedule. I’m grateful for the experience that this fast food job has given me because the lessons that I learned have helped give me the good work ethic that I have today.
