Provided one-on-one occupational therapy services to clients with low vision conditions in their home environments across the Durham area. Clients were primarily aged 60+ and presented with conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, glaucoma, and retinitis pigmentosa, often accompanied by secondary diagnoses including Type II diabetes, arthritis, joint replacements, and cognitive impairments.Delivered customized interventions to enhance independence and safety in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), including:Diabetic management and financial management.Compensatory strategies for self-care and medication management.Safety and environmental modifications.Sighted guide training.Client and caregiver education on assistive technology to support participation in leisure activities (e.g., reading, writing, games).Functional communication strategies.Gained additional insight through observation at the Duke Eye Center and collaboration with low vision occupational therapists across North Carolina. Attended the 2017 North Carolina Occupational Therapy Association (NCOTA) conference, participating in specialized breakout sessions on low vision rehabilitation.Arts Accessibility WorkshopResearched, developed, and led a presentation and hands-on workshop focused on arts accessibility for individuals with low vision. Collaborated with docents at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, DC, integrating their expertise into the workshop. The presentation featured strategies for making art more accessible and included an embedded video showcasing these efforts.

Non-profit aimed at supporting national and international organizations serving orphans with disabilities through support raising, provision of therapeutic and educational supplies, collaboration, and relief trips.

While working at Pattison's Academy, I had the privilege of being invited by my supervisor to join her new Early Intervention company, Path Finders Therapy. I continued performing the same role, providing early intervention services, and transitioned with the majority of my families who specifically requested to receive care through Path Finders.

Responsibilities included: -Assist families with understanding and adapting to the needs of their child-Coordinate between families, caregivers, insurance companies, Medicaid and various providers (OT, PT, ST, ABA, DME, etc) to ensure the delivery of necessary services to meet the needs of the child-Monitor developmental milestones and create individualized plans to encourage and promote age appropriate skills-Participate in the transition process and IEPs-Assist families with gathering the funding needed to assist their children in development-Creating and implementing specific family-oriented goals

I completed a year-long internship with a training center in Southern China, where I gained diverse experience in education, administration, and community development. My responsibilities included performing administrative tasks, co-writing curriculum for future training programs, teaching English to children, and fostering partnerships with local organizations.During this time, I volunteered at a local orphanage and a school for children with Autism, where I contributed to the design and construction of a sensory room. Additionally, I facilitated connections between the school and a local international clinic to improve access to resources and support.I also helped organize and host a training session focused on practical strategies for working with children with Autism and speech impairments. This event provided valuable "tips and tricks" to local parents, teachers, hospital staff, and orphanage volunteers, enhancing their ability to support these children effectively.

During my last year of graduate school I was able to get some classroom experience by working full time as a CCR-TA. I worked with students in grades K-5 and assisted them in the areas of reading, writing and math.

During the summers of 2008 and 2009 I worked with Crosspoint's church plant in Bluffton, South Carolina. I performed various volunteer and administrative responsibilities in collaboration with Crosspoint Church and the North American Mission Board to better reach the people of Bluffton. I was able to participate in leading Bible studies and discipleship groups.

STRIVE was a branch of P.E.P. that was dedicated to support adolescents with disabilities during the summer. We participated in various recreational activities as well as vocational therapy. Student ages ranged from 14 to 20 and disabilities ranged from mild to severe.
