Education is an essential aspect of life in general. From a very young age, I absolutely knew that education’s vital, and without obtaining the skills and fundamentals needed I wouldn’t get very far in life. I obtained an awesome opportunity to work at Hilliard Baptist Church as an entry-level preschool teachers assistant. At the time of working at Hilliard Baptist Church I was still attending Franklin University, and because I was so far into my degree I didn’t drop out to begin a different degree program. I stuck with my bachelors program, and eventually I obtained my bachelors in business administrations.While at Hilliard Baptist Church I advanced very quickly. Within a week the Center Director saw potential, and extended me a promotion as the lead teacher of the pre-preschool classroom. In August of 2010 I enrolled at Grand Canyon University where I began working on my masters degree in elementary of education. During my studies at Grand Canyon University I gained a lot of insightful information, however honestly as a teacher now, nothing could’ve prepared me to teach unless I was physically inside the classroom, teaching.Once I obtained my Masters Degree in Elementary of Education I then began working as a substitute teacher for Columbus City Schools. As a substitute with Columbus City Schools I enjoyed having a choice of the school I would teach at, however once I found the school I enjoyed the most, I stayed there most of the time. I spent most of my time working at Saint Vincent. I continued to go because I enjoyed the environment, the staff, and most importantly the students. I build a bond with the students that I was teaching and my students really advanced and grew through the school year. I also held another job that I went to after substituting during the day, at Columbus City Schools. I was also a mentor at Central Community House on Main Street in Columbus Ohio. As a mentor I helped towards keeping our students positive and motivated towards accomplishing their set goals. Currently I am developing towards becoming a full time teacher. I currently am contracted with Columbus Preparatory and Fitness Academy as the building Substitute. This last year, August 2022 until May 2023, was my first year there. Currently I am developing towards becoming a teacher with Columbus Preparatory and Fitness Academy. They’re after I plan on obtaining my PH.D in order to be able to teach children that have developmental disabilities.
