In my current role at Lever Gear, I've been launching a line of everyday carry (EDC) consumer products with my husband, Mike. We successfully launched our first product, the Toolcard Pro - a stainless steel, credit card-sized multitool with 40 functions - on Kickstarter in March 2016. Our next three products, the BitVault, CableKit and Edge XT were also successfully funded via crowdfunding campaigns. I planned and managed in-person launch parties for all of our campaigns and created the video for our most recent campaign. My career path began in the field of education where I worked for over fifteen years in K-12 classrooms, university programs and a variety of alternative educational environments. As Chief Operating Officer with BizWorld.org in San Francisco, my primary responsibility was putting a hands-on entrepreneurship curriculum into the hands of elementary educators globally. I was responsible for the program division of their national operations, including organizational strategy, curriculum development, program production and distribution, teacher training and support, volunteer engagement, marketing and branding, program alliances, and international partnerships. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, I graduated with honors from the Concurrent Education Program at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. I also earned a professional credential in English Language Teaching from the University of Cambridge that supported my language teaching in Korea for two years. My passion for culture, travel, writing and photography led me to more than 25 countries on five continents and into the most recent chapter of my life as a wife, mother, entrepreneur and home-education blogger. I'm living and loving life in Greenville, SC with my husband, Mike, and our two kids who we homeschool in a fun, unconventional unschooling style. Our lifestyle enables me to work on multiple projects, learn new things, spend time with my family, meet new people and feel good about how I'm spending my days. I couldn't ask for anything more.
