Food and events have always been an integral part of my life. Some of my earliest memories are of a tea party that I had with friends that turned into a yearly migration with a guest list of 100+ for over 20 years.My introduction to the food and beverage world came in high school when a friend asked me if I would help serve at a catering event. I took the opportunity and came home after an 18-hour day extremely excited about the event, and drove my family crazy with a detailed regaling of everything that had happened that day. From that point on, I was hooked.I worked as the catering manager at The Village Eatery in downtown Glendora the last two years of high school and throughout college. I graduated from the Collins College of Hospitality Management at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona in 2008. During that period, I was given an annual opportunity to work with the event planner at the American Wine and Food Festival hosted by Wolfgang Puck and Barbara Lazaroff, benefitting the Meals on Wheels Charitable Foundation. In July of 2009 I began the Accelerated Culinary Arts Program at the Culinary Institute of America’s Greystone Campus, and graduated in March of 2010. My first job out of school was working at The London West Hollywood as a line cook for the Gordon Ramsay Restaurant, which at the time was one of the only hotel restaurants in Los Angeles to hold a Michelin star. Little did I know, that was only my introduction into the Michelin world. After managing restaurants in Los Angeles and the Bay Area for Michelin-starred Chef Michael Mina, I found myself in the role of Assistant General Manager at Chef David Kinch’s Manresa, which held the elusive 3 Michelin star rating from 2016 until its closure at the end of 2022. One of only 13 other restaurants in the United States to hold that honor at the time.I love how food and beverage brings people together; how it gives people opportunities to make new connections, and to nurture old ones. And I enjoy planning and facilitating those experiences.
