Receive and then route emergency and non-emergency calls via five E-911 phone lines, six non-emergency phone lines, and eight radio nets. Dispatch all police, fire and EMS. Handle “911” calls by determining nature, location, and priority of emergency; paging and/or notifying the appropriate response unit(s); retrieving information from party online; keeping them calm, and updating the units enroute while administering pre-arrival instructions as an EMD or Law Enforcement Dispatcher, i.e. medical help over the phone; Monitor TIES/NCIC/NLETS computer, and other emergency broadcast systems; Communicate with various air ambulances and give coordinates; Relay information to and from all law enforcement, fire, ems & other government agencies, i.e. DCS, General Sessions and Circuit courts, TBI, THP, DA etc; Make entries into NCIC/TCIC, i.e. theft, wanted, missing, etc; Record and log all traffic, including traffic stops, for five city police departments, the sheriff’s department, state park rangers, two full time fire departments, ten volunteer fire departments, all EMS and rescue responders; Multi-task on a daily basis doing all above task simultaneously; as well as train new hired employees.
