Quantified HIV viral load in SCID/Hu mice after antiviral treatment using bDNA assays; developed real-time RT-PCR assays to quantify viral load in Thy/Liv tissue from Scid-hu mice, and to distinguish between viral mutants that varied by three nucleotides.
