April Lundy, M.F.A., writer/producer/director and Associate Professor of Film and Television Studies at Clark Atlanta University holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Digital Filmmaking and Art from Georgia State University and a Bachelors Degree in Journalism from Georgia State University. At Clark Atlanta University, Lundy serves as Interim Chair of the Department of Mass Media Arts. She is former Chair of the CAU Faculty Assembly and Chair of the University Curriculum Committee. Lundy holds an online teaching certification from the Sloan Online Learning Consortium and has contributed to the development of several Mass Media Arts courses, most notably her Films of Spike Lee course, and more recently her Black Invisibility in France: Paris Study Abroad program and course at Clark Atlanta University. She is published in several scholarly journals including The Black Scholar and has presented her scholarly research internationally in Greece, Turkey, Italy, France, Jamaica, Hawaii & Puerto Rico. Within the film and television industries, she has produced and directed commercials, independent films, music videos, reality television, documentaries, corporate industrials, and electronic press kits. She has proven to be a staple in the entertainment industry working with top talent such as Keith David, Whitney Houston, TLC, Tyler Perry, Outkast, and NeYo. Lundy co-founded, owned, and operated Film Noire Group Inc. and Strange Fruit Films ~ two of the Southeast’s most notable and successful film production companies. She has produced and directed media projects for Bravo, Sony-Columbia, Black Entertainment Television, TV One, Warner Brothers, LaFace, and Arista.
