I earned my Bachelor’s in Illustration from Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL. While pursuing my degree, I balanced several demanding projects with part time jobs and did my best to deliver a great result to each professor. Currently I mostly work digitally, but all my projects start with a traditional pencil sketch. I am very detail-oriented and don’t like to pass up the opportunity for a pun. I like designing in sets or collections and exploring the possibilities for my characters. My favorite moments at Ringling were when I could collaborate with others to bring forth the best ideas for a project. Whether it was for my graphic design or costuming class, I loved being able to spark new ideas for friends and receive critique for my own pieces. During my senior year I held the role of committee chairman for the Senior Illustration Show, which was a campus-wide gallery event to showcase the theses of the entire illustration graduating class. There were about 106 seniors for the class of 2014. My responsibilities included overseeing the subset of teams our group divided into to make sure the entire operation went smoothly, deadlines were met, and the budget was on track. As chairman, I was the point of contact for the department head and gallery curator, as well as any team members or the curious student. I was unbelievably thankful for having an amazing team where all of us were motivated and willing to pitch in with any task. I work as a barista for my day-job right now, and having a good team is crucial. We are all willing to hop on whichever station needs the most help and smile through any situation.
