Tiny but mighty. I'm April Shipp and I've been a force since I began my professional dance career at the age of 18 signing with Clear Talent Group, Dance Agency (based in NYC & Chicago). I've gone on to dance for music artists; Kanye West, Beyonce, Aubrey O'day, Sharaya J (feat Missy Elliot) & on. I've also performed or choreographed for TV & Stage Productions; The Oprah Winfrey Show, "My Brother Marvin" Tribute to Marvin Gaye, and industrials for company ads as well as some print work for companies; Groupon, Dyson, & more. I've worked as a Teaching Artist with youth programs, contracted through Chicago Public Schools & the Joffrey Ballet Partnerships. My classes provide curriculum for dance education & social emotional learning for students from Early Childhood and Development to High School Seniors. Each program requiring a different curriculum or custom program to enrich, empower, and expose Chicago's youth to the possibilities within the performing arts while gaining confidence and the skills to work within groups as leaders and confident contributors.My career in fitness began in 2012 when I was certified in her first modality, Barre/Pilates. With my dance background, I imagined coaching would come very easily to me but it was quite the opposite. Dancers are athletes but when the focus is health, wellness, body conditioning & being connected to your body in a way that focuses on your health (my practices backed by science) there was a steep learning curve, hence my passion grew. I got my certifications in Total Body Conditioning, Cardio Kickboxing, Dance Cardio, Aerial Fitness, and Yoga Sculpt. I am also a certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I've led classes for beginners through advanced clients. I'm full of energy & passionate about empowering my clients and reconnecting them to their bodies through movement; with a tranquil & grounded coaching style. I make fitness accessible while inspiring my clients aspire to be their best version. I founded my company Master and Flow in 2021. Which is my boutique virtual training platform.Through my professional endeavors I seek to inspire people, offering hope, helping them to escape their worries, or providing the education/tools in my areas of expertise so that they may thrive & in return, I learn from them.You can also catch me traveling to far away places. Engaging in meaningful conversations w/ someone I've just met, seeking opportunities to fulfill my duties as a global citizen, or spending quality time with my partner & loved ones.
