CurrentApril Smith is the Vice President of Program Accounting and Contract Management at Advanced Project Management, Inc. APM is a Program, Project, and Construction Management firm located in the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area, now in its 26th year.Since 2007, Ms. Smith has provided the accounting and contract management for all of APM’s projects. She is directly responsible for implementing and managing cost controls, project risk controls, project time management processes, contract management, insurance and bonding risk management, and best administration practices for construction project managers.Directly responsible for coordinating the various project team members to balance financial impacts during the construction process, technology programs, FF&E programming and purchases, and soft costs, Ms. Smith finds pathways to budget compliance without eliminating material scope needs and desires of APM’s clients.Ms. Smith plays a vital role in supporting our clients during the planning and implementation of financing for projects. Developing detailed and accurate cash flow projections of both construction and soft costs and coordinating the requirements of financing covenants with the realities of construction processes, she provides APM’s clients and their financial advisors with the information needed to create a successful financing plan.
