LEAD NC exists to seek out, encourage and cultivate a new generation of community and civic leaders for North Carolina.***● Operate non-partisan 501c4 organization that identifies, recruits, and trains potential Progressive candidates who are from communities underrepresented in elected office (BIPOC, women, LGBTQIA+ and more), to run for office - 68% of LEAD candidates and alumni won their 2022 races, from school board to state legislature● Operate 501c3 leadership development organization that trains North Carolinians from underrepresented communities to serve in non-partisan, non-elected leadership positions● Craft organizational infrastructure for organizations, providing the following expertise and guidance: - Lead an organizational review and developed a 3-year plan presented to partners and funders, to align direction - Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for internal HR processes to ensure compliance and consistency - Improve and automate internal financial structures and accounting and budgeting processes - Recruit and onboard new Board members, increasing from 1 to 5 members within a 6-month period; supported Board in updating bylaws, first time since inception● Perform extensive program development, planning, training and development, including the following: - Enhance flagship trainings - Developed and piloted a Boards & Commissions Training Academy, partnering with fellow statewide C3 - Supported Training Directors in adjusting the training model from in-person experiential learning to virtual experiential learning model in response to COVID● Conduct hiring and training of key new hires, scaling up team from 2 to 5 within a year● Revamp website, enhance presence on social media, and oversee communications strategy to invested partners

· Managed site operations, growth goals and outcomes for all 14 agencies in the 26 NC counties NFP serves.· Secured $2.5 million in increased appropriations in the 2019 North Carolina proposed biennial budget to support the NC NFP sites.· Distributed $2 million increase in 2017 line-item budgeted state funding to NC NFP agencies. Through this process: - Built strong partnerships with key funding partners to disburse funding appropriately, - Prevented catastrophic (over half of budget) funding loss at two NC agencies, - Created five new Nurse Home Visitor roles; completed this first year goal within six months of hire. · Closed a considerable major gift from a NC family charitable trust – the Trust’s first gift awarded – within eight months of hire, in partnership with NFP Philanthropy colleagues. Over tenure, oversaw at least $500,000 dollars in support raised from private partners including philanthropists, individual and family foundations.· Managed a 14-person State Advisory Board, a volunteer board comprised of major donors and leaders in early childhood work; engaged the Board to advocacy in advance of the federal deadline for MIECHV reauthorization.· Key member of "Get Ready Guilford," a Collective Impact Project engaged by The Duke Endowment to serve all Guilford County children from pre-natal stages through age 8.· Advocated for Nurse-Family Partnership through regular meetings with State Senators, members of the State House of Representatives, and senior leadership of the Governor and NC’s First Lady’s offices. · Organized and executed NC NFP's first "Advocacy Day at the NC Legislature," bringing 20 NFP nurses, supervisors, administrators, clients, staff and supporters together in Raleigh to meet with legislative members and staff. - Raised $2.1 million in North Carolina in four months benefitting the Charlotte in 2012 Convention Host Committee. Was the only region to reach or surpass fundraising goal.- Organized successful fundraising events in Charlotte and Raleigh, North Carolina with Governor Beverly Perdue, Mayor Anthony Foxx and former Charlotte Mayors Harvey Gantt and Richard Vinroot.- Managed a direct report - the Deputy North Carolina Finance Director.- Managed and staffed Mayor Anthony Foxx's prospecting and fundraising calls and meetings in North Carolina and Chicago, Illinois.- Streamlined Host Committee's and Democratic National Convention Committee's scheduling process for Mayor Foxx.- Collaborated with the External Relations department to successfully implement all aspects of Mayor Foxx's four Convention Legacy programs.

- Raised over $11 million benefitting the Obama Victory Fund, a joint committee between Obama for America and the Democratic National Committee.- Organized all official Obama for America and Obama Victory Fund fundraising events in Illinois, including site selection, marketing, collection, and guest and host management.- Drafted memos, talking points and remarks and staffed and briefed elected officials and other principals for fundraising events.- Managed the 100-plus person Illinois donor portfolio, some who were members of the 50-plus person Illinois Finance Committee, a committee of volunteer fundraisers, comprised of leaders in Chicago's Finance/Banking, Law, Healthcare and Philanthropic communities.- Managed two direct reports.

- Raised $1.2 million from Southern states as a member of the two-person Southern Finance Team.- Organized the Inauguration credential distribution process for Southern donors.- Organizer and staffer at the Bipartisan Dinner honoring Senator John McCain (R-AZ).

- Lead fundraiser for events with Senator Joe and Dr. Jill Biden, Governor Howard Dean and Mrs. Michelle Obama.- Managed the donor database and tracked the fundraising efforts of the Southern members of the National Finance Committee.- Participated in critical Get Out the Vote (GOTV) operations in Charlotte, North Carolina as the Rides to the Polls coordinator in October and November 2008.
