I’m a small town country girl from Ridgeway, Virginia. I moved to Greensboro, North Carolina to attend the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2001. I have a passion for helping others. I had a plan to become a Play Therapy Counselor when I graduated from college. I decided to major in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Childhood and Adolescent Development and graduated in 2005. I had the opportunity to intern then become an employee at The Mentor Network with a phenomenal staff that shared in my passion to help others and provide a positive impact on the lives of children and foster parents. In 2006, I was accepted into the Rehabilitation Counseling Master’s Program at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. I enjoyed going to classes part-time and learning more about the different areas of counseling. In 2009, I was working a full-time job at Job Corps, part-time at Costco, and attending the University of Phoenix. I received a Human Resources Management Master's Certificate in July 2011.
