I’m an award-winning journalist who loves people, policy, narrative writing and making complex stories easier to understand. From government betrayal in South Carolina, to eco-tourism efforts in the war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo, my work spans national investigations, breaking news, community reporting, explanatory journalism, audio reporting, copy-editing and fact-checking.With over 16 years of journalism experience, I'm highly skilled at uncovering systemic issues in marginalized communities. At the Center for Public Integrity, I covered racial inequality, particularly in healthcare and agriculture. Collaboration across the newsroom was critical to our work. I often partnered with the data team for deeper reporting and data analysis, and the audience team to maximize the reach of our projects. My audio work includes hosting and reporting the third season of Public Integrity's award-winning podcast, The Heist, highlighting federal discrimination against Black farmers. I also reported an hourlong episode of our groundbreaking series, "40 acres and a Lie" with Reveal at the Center for Investigative Reporting, broadcast on NPR member stations across the country.
