With 16 years’ experience as an aircraft structures mechanic at Boeing, I know a thing or two about building airplanes. I have spent my entire Boeing career supporting the 787 Dreamliner, the world's first composite commercial airliner. But after several years working in manufacturing, I decided to go back to school, because I realized that one of the biggest areas of opportunity for the company was in improving how mechanics and engineers communicate to stakeholders and leadership. So, in 2013, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Social Sciences from the University of Washington and also completed the Communication Leadership program at UW in June 2019, earning a Master of Communication in Digital Media. The combination of my education and shop floor experience gives me the unique ability to translate manufacturing processes to UX design.
