Alan is a lecturer and Clinical Scientist in audiology based in Brighton, UK. He first trained in biology and neuroscience before specialising in audiology 15 years ago. As a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority, Alan has a proven track record of training the next generation of professionals in audiology and otology.As a clinical academic Alan specialises in the creation and improvement of interventions for people with hearing impairment and tinnitus. His current research themes include bone-conduction hearing devices, neuromodulation-based tinnitus therapies and technologies to improve music for cochlear implant users.Alan is also the co-founder of Amplitude Hearing Ltd, a clinical service that provides diagnostic testing and rehabilitation for people being held back by hearing loss.
