Ensured that systems and processes meet or exceed regulatory compliance.

Managed and lead IT projects in support of technology implementations, build-outs, and migrations involving customers of NWN Corporation in the Sacramento valley in the government, health-care and private industry sectors. These include datacenter expansions and redesign projects, disaster recovery solutions, virtualization and consolidation projects, etc.

Managed and led IT infrastructure projects at Williams-Sonoma headquarters in San Francisco in related to WSI’s many ecommerce brands which include Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn, West-Elm, etc. Helped Williams-Sonoma with an end-to-end ecommerce infrastructure build-out of a new brand that will launch in November of 2012. This infrastructure build-out includes Akamai CDN integration, eCommerce Web/App solutions, third-part integrations, and back-end main frame integration.

One of two project managers leading a very large international effort including over 100 engineers and developers to build eBay’s Cloud Computing platform. Led six eBay product development teams (three teams in San Jose, one is India, and two in China) from inception to general availability (GA) release of eBay’s new Cloud Computing infrastructure and Next Generation Server Strategy (NGSS) which fully automates eBay’s enormous server pools and IT infrastructure. Cloud Computing allows companies like eBay to provision new server pools in minutes versus months, and to help reduce IT overhead. Manual processes are automated into solutions such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software deployment services (to push out upgrades or new configs), etc. Managed datacenter consolidations projects to migrate from leased collocation facilities to eBay-owned data centers. This included migrations of server pools that support eBay’s production (live) environment. Also, managed deployment of monitoring and dashboard tools for the eBay NOC (Network Operations Center).

Program Manager of Networking and Telecommunications – Led Networking and Telecommunications department at SJUSD. Managed projects relating to infrastructure upgrades including enterprise backups and network bandwidth upgrades. Developed project plans and process documents leading to business process re-engineering and improvements. Spearheaded cross-training and team-building efforts to increase the cohesiveness and effectiveness of the department. Led efforts to turn the group from emergency driven to proactive.

Oversaw all systems architecture, infrastructure design, and hosting (Data Center) environment in support of large-scale state and federal government systems. Project-managed application development and ongoing application support-related projects at Verizon's Application Solutions Group (ASG). Spear-headed data center build-outs at various co-location facilities and privately owned data centers nationwide. Lead new technology reviews, research, and selection within Verizon Business (VZB). Helped VZB’s competitive advantage by adopting technologies and methods that can reduce costs, increase ROI, and increase uptime. Incorporated ITIL industry best practices into standard operating procedures (SOPs). Wrote technology whitepapers for VZB executives, management, and peers. Developed IT operations budgets and forecasts.

Manager and technical project manager at Riverstone responsible for worldwide infrastructure planning, design, & implementation. Lead and managed all major IT rollouts including new data centers (primary & secondary), global network (including firewalls, VPN’s & WAN’s), and automated Disaster Recovery solutions (including development of DR & BCP plans & technical architecture for service recovery). Managed vendor relations with IT Application Service Providers (ASPs) and other outsourcing partners. Oversaw all data center operations and systems administration as well as training and mentoring IT technical staff. Developed business process documents and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and implemented call tracking and monitoring systems to ensure excellent service and uptime.

Lead efforts to upgrade Sony’s aging network and computer infrastructure and data rooms. Redesigned & redefined IT infrastructure and standards for Sony to meet current and future needs. This included planning, acquisition, and deployment of Ethernet switching hubs, Cisco routers, Compaq Proliant servers, Sun Ultrasparc and Enterprise2000 servers. Helped to design and implement a network of computers and servers for multi-million dollar testbeds for Sony. Also, helped to design and implement an extensive firewall strategy for Sony SDC (CheckPoint Firewall-1). Provided senior UNIX and NT systems administration. Initiated IT process and service-level improvements, deployed call-tracking system, and drafted software and hardware standards.

Technical lead for a 2000+ node PC-based LAN/WAN. Helped develop network infrastructure and standards for LSI Logic’s PC network consisting of Microsoft NT, Novell Netware. Administered NT, Novell, cc:Mail, and 2 UNIX servers used as Appleshare server for Macintosh, and Internet mail relay. Facilitated network connectivity to UNIX-based network via NFS, and Mainframe via SNA gateways. Provided training for Help Desk and Desktop Support groups. Assisted Field Engineers on escalated third tier issues. Performed managerial duties as acting supervisor of the server support group.

Provided direct support to Computer Associates customers as a Senior LAN specialist responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of technical issues for a network-based ERP/Accounting system. Performed compatibility tests of software with various network operating systems (NOS’s) such as Netware, Lantastic, LanManager, 3COM, Banyan, etc. Produced technical documentation of known problem-solutions, and trained new technicians. In addition, provided assistance and technical knowledge to Quality Assurance and I.S. departments at Computer Associates.
