Led six eBay product development teams (three teams in San Jose, one is India, and two in China) from inception to general availability (GA) release of eBay’s new Cloud Computing infrastructure and Next Generation Server Strategy (NGSS) which fully automates eBay’s enormous server pools and IT infrastructure. Cloud Computing allows companies like eBay to provision new server pools in minutes versus months, and to help reduce IT overhead. Manual processes are automated into solutions such as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Software deployment services (to push out upgrades or new configs), etc. Managed datacenter consolidations projects to migrate from leased collocation facilities to eBay-owned data centers. This included migrations of server pools that support eBay’s production (live) environment. Also, managed deployment of monitoring and dashboard tools for the eBay NOC (Network Operations Center).
