    Thesis Topic: Modeling of drug diffusion through porous media in aqueous solution using finite elements techniques.Advisors: Dr. Prof. Harish Cherukuri, PhD, Dr. Ahmed El-Ghannam, PhD1.Thesis involved modeling of mass diffusion mechanism to study drug release kinetics through porous material using finite element analysis. 2.The algorithm was developed to model mass transfer by diffusion process using heat transfer model in ABAQUS CAE. 3.The governing equations used to solve are the same for heat transfer as for mass diffusion. 4.This technique is commonly used in the automotive industry to study thermal performance of powertrain assemblies, and in the electronics industry to analyze heat and power cycling of components. 5.The concentration of drug released was calculated by post processing the data in MATLAB. 6.The mathematical model was developed based on finite element method to calculate total concentration of drug released.
