Hi, I’m Ara! I’m a final year student studying Sociology (BSc) at Loughborough University.During my time at university I have developed proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, with further training in R software for statistical programming and data analysis. I am currently undertaking a qualitative dissertation exploring support practitioner and recipient perceptions of bereavement support services in primary and secondary education, with the aim of policy development for improved support experiences.I am continuing my role as Course Representative for final year sociology, maintaining feedback collection, student advocacy, programme development, and well-being support. In my third year as a student ambassador, I continue to deliver presentations at open and offer holder days, receiving exemplary feedback from prospective students, carers, and staff for engagement, knowledge, and delivery.I lead the University Experience project at Loughborough University, organising and hosting outreach events for disadvantaged primary school students. We provide workshops on numerous subjects including science, marketing, and creative writing to warmly introduce young people to Loughborough University.My experience as a SEND teaching assistant for students aged 4-19 has improved my skills in conflict management, effective communication, and tailored teaching, with the aim of supporting students in their personal, social, and academic development.Outside of academia, I continue to volunteer with a local craft group, providing aid to deprived communities in the UK and partnered communities in Uganda and Ukraine, with a particular aim of supporting girls’ education in Uganda through sponsorship and tailored care packages.Following a successful internship with American Express, I will be returning for September 2025 in Enterprise Digital and Data Solutions.
