About Arabella Johnston
I am a passionate health professional whose focus is elevating patient care, advocating for the radiation therapy profession, and being at the forefront of new technologies. I completed my bachelor's degree at the University of Newcastle and have been a Radiation Therapist since 2016. I have previously been the co-chair of the ASMIRT NSW Branch and on the ASMIRT Membership and Advocacy Committee. In 2018 I was on the organising committee for the ASMIRT national conference held in Canberra. As a Radiation Therapist, I have a strong interest in Stereotactic treatments and SBRT (SABR). I also have experience and knowledge in radiation oncology clinical trials. My future goals are to continue to strengthen my knowledge of new techniques, enhance my leadership skills, and be involved in professional educational opportunities as both an attendee and a presenter.

Clinical Trials Coordinator
Working directly with Principal Investigators to manage data collection, patient coordination, and communication. Having a wide knowledge basis and understanding of a number of radiation oncology focused trials that are both active and in post-treatment follow-up. Protocol management, and staff education on specific trials across a multidisciplinary team. Conducting trial requirements following GCP guidelines, communicating directly to trial facilitators, and troubleshooting and documenting variations to treatments/protocols as required. Liaising with doctors, nurses, medical imaging, pathology, pharmacy, and radiation therapy staff in relation to trial requirements. Assisting patients with navigating trial and treatment requirements and questions. Management of financials and presentation of trial progress on a monthly basis. Data entry, Data queries and quality assurance. Experience exploring and uploading patient treatment plans and medical imaging. Tracking and reporting of adverse events promptly. Assisting with study visits and post-study visit maintenance. Experience with Medidata, Powerchart, ARIA, and Meditech. Maintaining confidentiality at all times. Assisting PI's in obtaining informed consent and explaining trials, treatment pathways and assisting patients with questions.
