Senior year is an unparalleled opportunity for a student’s self-discovery, as well as the development of new organizational skills and the grit necessary to find an exciting path. I walk alongside students and their parents as they go through the dizzying process of filling out applications for admissions, scholarships and financial aid. I ask the right questions, then provide the guidance and the best research available to support this exciting process. In an organized, yet compassionate manner, I equip students to select the right mix of universities to put on “the list” and tell their stories in a way that gets them noticed.

As a College Admissions Coach, I strive to help clients (and their parents) understand the steps necessary to successfully gain admittance to college in the increasingly complicated and competitive application process. I partner with students to help them learn how to research universities and choose which schools to add to "the list," understand financial aid and merit aid, write authentic essays and develop compelling interview skills.

As Coordinator of our program, I hired and trained a staff of ESL and GED teachers as well as administrative staff for a daytime and evening program which served over 200 adult learners each year. Our students were speakers of over 20 language groups with varying degrees of proficiency. As a state sponsored program, I oversaw the assessment and reporting of each student's progress in order to be in compliance with state mandates for performance. I created and monitored our annual budget, kept inventories of supplies and technological equipment. Our program was regularly one of the most succesful in our region. As Intermediate ESL teacher, I created daily lesson plans for a class of over 40 students each semester, focusing on the four competencies: reading, writing, speaking and listening. I also developed a pronunciation class for the entire school. As per the requirements of the state of Texas, I also provided opportunities for our students to learn about career paths, interview skills and educational options for themselves and their children. Many of my students eventually moved on to the GED class and were successful in obtaining their GED or jobs.
