Leadership Highlights:• Strategic Turnaround: Recruited to revitalize CuriOdyssey after years of deficit spending. Implemented a three-year strategic plan to achieve financial stability, grow the audience, and position the organization as a leader in early science learning.• Financial Success: Emerged from a decade of deficits in FY20, exceeding revenue targets by $0.5M despite COVID. Maintained profits in FY21 and FY22 while increasing organizational investments by $0.5M.• Crisis Management: Safely navigated a 90-day closure during FY23 due to storm damage, securing timely grants and managing expenses to limit losses. Ended the year only $234K over budget, despite $750K+ in unexpected storm-related costs.Program and Organizational Development:• STEMCorps Initiative: Launched a new education program connecting educators, mentors, and community partners with underserved youth, empowering them to engage in STEM learning. Secured $500K in funding for an 18-month pilot (now in its fourth year) with support from major sponsors like Gilead, Genentech, and Merck.• Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): Established a DEI leadership team, launched an internal consulting practice, and conducted an equity audit. Collaborated with the board to form a DEIB committee and grow the Board of Directors from 14 to 20 members.Capital Development and Expansion:• Campus Development: Led fundraising efforts for a state-of-the-art early science learning center, raising $1.7M in the first year and completing the capital campaign after nine years. Opened the new Physics in Action Playground, "Whooosh!" and expanded classroom space with the Bay Gallery & Labs (3000 sq ft).• Future Planning: Initiated the capital campaign for an expanded North American River Otter Habitat, including selecting a design-build firm and completing site selection.

Established Salesforce as the central tool for tracking our sales pipeline, projecting revenue and measuring our quality of service. Collaborated on strategic partnerships development to increase reach and deepen sales pipeline. Formulated and executed six month study to understand resistance of school districts to Performance Assessment Systems. The study outcomes are guiding ELPs communication strategy, establishing methods to engage a wider audience, and demonstrating ELP as a leader in the field. Collaborated on relaunch of ELP Newsletter, increasing reach 28% in first year; relaunched social media channel with revised strategy. Co-led ELP’s Equity Initiative: inaugural Nexus Fellow (established by The Equity Lab in 2019); Co-led Development of equity stance, guiding internal and external processes and goals. Advised Executive Director on the development of three year strategic plan through 2022.

Launched a multi-award-winning US STEM education Remote Tutoring and Mentoring (RTM) program bolstered by a real-time communication/collaboration platform as well as 400+ STEM mentors representing top corporate brands. Across 9 years, significantly elevated students’ state assessment scores, GPAs, SAT marks, college readiness levels, and career awareness of STEM fields.Designed business model and technology roadmap, secured alliances with school districts, 100+ corporations, and powerful private/institutional foundations, and scaled the company to 24 directors, managers, and staff. Secured long-term mentoring relationships with over 350 nationwide business professionals representing the fields of Technology, Engineering, Gaming, CPU/GPU Design, Animation, Data Science, Biotech, Life Science, Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, and Statistics.Drove pilot launch into a single NorCal school system, ultimately deploying program into 15 schools in 2 states, serving over 350 low-SES students every week and gaining national honors, such as the Forbes Excellence Award for Education and US2020 STEM Mentoring Award from the White House. Later, standardized and productized RTM program to create an earned-revenue model aimed at like-minded technology firms.Established a star-studded Board of Directors comprised of 14 engaged business leaders pulled from Google, NVIDIA, Microsoft, Gap, Lazard, and other visionary organizations. Oversaw the development of video conferencing system, medical devices, and server chassis via 24/7-design model leveraging US and Shanghai teams.Engaged B2B client base extensively, from initial solutioning and proof-of-concept through final delivery, upgrades, and add-on projects. Engineered components of the first electronic respiratory flow meter featuring an electro-pneumatic fixture to monitor dynamic performance, capturing a 5X boost in test cycle time with 100% fixture reliability.Supported clinical trials leading to 2 FDA approvals.
