Over the past ten years, I have split my time between the worlds of STEM and customer service. These disparate experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the skillset involved in communicating specialized, technical information to the every day people who's lives and businesses can be enriched by it. I currently have the opportunity to put these skills to use every day at Onfido as a Customer Support Analyst, playing data detective and breaking down the math and jargon so clients and team members alike can benefit from the wealth of knowledge hiding in plain sight in our data analytics.On the customer service side, I spent eight years employed by Universal Studios, who have earned countless awards for their themed entertainment experiences and stellar customer service, including three Themed Entertainment Association Awards (THEA Awards), seven separate Theme Park Insider Awards, and two Amusement Today’s Golden Ticket Awards. Universal's incredible focus on one-of-a-kind customer service catered to visitors from around the world has allowed me to develop enthusiastic and individualized customer support skills I use every day.On the data side, I hold a BA in Environmental Science from the University of West Florida, and am set to earn my Masters in Geographic Information Systems Administration by the end of 2023. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but in the world of GIS, it is also worth hundreds of thousands of data points, complex natural relationships, and cutting edge insights into the world and people around us.I have translated this combination of skills to my work as a trainer, freelance tutor, and assistant instructor in every subject from geology to cake decorating. In these roles, I have honed my ability to translate the complex and technical into compelling data stories that anyone can understand and learn from, regardless of background.
