The aim of the division is to bring in-house lawyers together to share best practice and address current issues and challenges in a supportive environment. Our programme of engagement is for members working in the corporate and public sectors, not-for-profit organisations and charities.The programme seeks to:address leadership and strategy, risk management, regulatory developments and legal management through a series of events, member support activities and researchsupport, promote and represent in-house lawyers by providing opportunities to share and develop best practice, to exchange ideas and experiences, to learn from peers, and by providing research informationprovide opportunities for in-house lawyers to influence the overall direction of the legal sectorpromote the in-house professionhelp the Law Society to understand and represent in-house lawyers better.

The Winmark CLO Network is a dedicated senior management development network for Chief Legal Officers (CLOs), General Counsel and Heads of Legal. The Network comprises over 200 members from all industries and sectors, principally from the FTSE 350, Fortune 500 and central Government departments. The Winmark CLO Network brings members together to share experiences and learn from each other in a confidential environment. Some key features include Network Meetings, Network Research (know-how), Decision / Peer Support and Training & Development.

Responsible for managing the strategic and operational media relations programme of 11KBW, Serle Court, 7 Bedford Row, Fladgate, LSLA, Rouse, The Khan Partnership. Targeted monthly coverage achieved in line with client strategy. Journalist meetings organised with nationals, online, legal, business and trade media.Mentoring of junior staff.

Reporting to Vice President, Corporate Communications successfully developed a worldwide Corporate Responsibility Programme. Main issues included community relations, environment and health & safety.Key objectives included review on activity, competitor benchmark, recommendations for action and information sharing.

Achieved a five-time increase in UK nationals and legal media news coverage (Q1 2006 vs. Q1 2007). Successfully reached the UK target business and trade media to develop the profile of the Corporate Group. Proactively increased news by 30% and placed contributed articles. Effectively implemented a crisis communication plan presented at senior level.Notably raised both the profiles of the firm and individual partners by participating in Chambers and Legal 500.

Successfully achieved a 2:1 Masters degree as part of my career development in Communications and Public Relations.

Provided and promoted amongst Public Relations client teams value-added international media analysis and recommendations, e.g. Ericsson (prior to the Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications merger in 2001), and BT Ignite (through their logo and name change to BT Global Services in 2003).Effectively line managed a team of four, motivating them towards achievement of targets and service standards.Appointed in 2003 for one year to the New York office to manage key global clients (PricewaterhouseCoopers, DaimlerChrysler) and train and develop staff to ensure universal service standards.Achieved increased income for the technology team, worth £600k (20% of company’s total revenue), whilst consistently delivered on-target gross profitability for HP IPG’s international project, Echo’s biggest single client (£500k).

Successfully organised and managed sport, cultural and themed events for The Economist, COLT and The National Grid; e.g. Goodwood Historic Motor Racing and Verona Opera Festival. Demonstrated an excellent working knowledge of project management, attention to detail and communication skills utilising these to ensure that often-changing event requirements were taken into account.

Established successful trading links between British and Spanish companies with an understanding of their strategies and marketing requirements to enable the ultimate success of the partnerships. Initial desk-based research through to the development of business relationships and the arrangement of meetings were key to fruitful working practices.
