A Western Maine Native, Aranka Matolcsy traveled extensively for 20 years studying art and seeking extreme mountain adventures -- to return to Maine after learning that these special foothills offer the best quality of life, recreation and community the world has to offer. A self-described cultural crusader, she has been instrumental over the past 11 years in professionally revitalizing or developing a variety of regional arts organizations and cultural events. She revitalized the Western Maine Art Group in Norway between 2006-2011, and served as the executive director of the Mahoosuc Arts Council which received the Dirigo Award for Nonprofit Excellence in 2011, from 2009-2015. She revitalized and directed the Moore Park Art Maker Fair, a position she develop and held from 2010 to 2019. Matolcsy is a writer and photographer, currently publishing with West Coast Maine Magazine, the Oxford Hills Chamber Magazine, and other regional publications. She is the owner of Monarch Consulting, specializing in web design, marketing and strategic planning. She is also a member of the team at Wellomics LLC, a business-to-business formulation and testing laboratory in Bethel, Maine which creates nutraceutical formulations. When she is not working to advance the arts, researching wellness and nutrition or designing web sites, you will find Aranka in her food or flower gardens with her son Colby Adam.
