I've been a "techie" since I was in high school, where I was the first freshman to be referred and admitted in the Advanced Placement Computer Science: Java Programming class, which gave me a head start in university. Although I have had many interests, it has always come back to tech.As my journey is closing in near graduation at UTRGV, I continue to learn something new everyday and I get to apply these skills practically inside of academia and outside too. For example, I get to be a part of the team that builds statistical reports for the men's basketball team at my university using Python and HTML. This project has come to fruition through collaboration with the Department Head of the Information Systems' major at my college. There is still much more growth to be made, and I hope to be a part of a community where I can not only give my own input to solutions but hear other perspectives that will help me build a new type of shared experience learned from others.
