I was fortuned to be engaged in a major construction at international standard level supported by World Bank. This is 200 million Euro project was mainly of civil engineering importance, though it had a considerable of mechanical and electrical and instrumentation technicalities.As assistant to site manager I realized I had to assist to supervise over hundred of company’s workers. At the same time I had to co-ordinate with other members of consortium who were responsible for other aspects of the project. Negotiation with client, discussion with consultants, quality control of works, safety of site, budget and invoice control, time scheduling and of course resources planning were other challenges I had to handle. These experiences made me more interested in further studies of construction management.Quality Control:Inspection of project activities especially on concrete structures.Undertook the investigation, development, refinement and testing of new products.Conducted design, tested concrete strength and soil compaction in field & laboratory.; As a site executive engineer throughout construction of concrete and steel structures at SOUTHERN TEHRAN WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT.*This is the major project of 6 years duration supported by World Bank. The project is carried out by a consortium of WABAG of Austria, TOSSAR & SARAVAN of Iran. The consultant is ILF of Austria. The cost of project is estimated at over 31 million Euro and over 226 billion Rials. Other features of project includes 384000 m² of earth leveling, 120000 m³of concreting, 748000 m³of earth moving and 340000 m³of backfill.This is the largest national environmental project and greatest waste water treatment plant in the Middle East.
