Worked with Prof. Ahmadzadeh at IUT Image Processing lab to propose a texture descriptor based on more local features compared to the conventional methods. The proposed descriptor, Local Patch Difference Vector, has a higher resistance against noise when compared to other similar descriptors. It is based on the Euclidean distance of circular neighborhoods values around each pixel. The classification results of the proposed descriptor are comparable to other conventional methods. In addition, when noise is applied to images, classification rate using the proposed method leads to significantly better results.

Worked at KIAU Embedded Systems lab to find a method for the implementation of a digital PID controller on Field Programmable Gate Array with floating point arithmetic. Required logical and mathematical operators like comparison and summation are overloaded to accept floating point numbers as input so calculations would have higher precision than software based PID controllers. Simulink model was used to plot the time response of PID controller. The proposed method was implemented practically on Xilinx Spartan-3E FPGA Board.
