  Cooperation in the research project "evaluation and determination of distribution network protection settings with the integration of distributed generations (DG)". This project was done for Guilan regional electricity company. The goals of this project : 1. Definition of proper settings for DG unit protective relays e.g. 81O/U, 27, 59, 32, 46, 78, 25 & 50BF by consideration of local grid codes and international standards.2. Implementation of an overcurrent relaying scheme for DG units, Interconnection transformers & conductors based on DG size, presence of local loads and permission of island operation.3. Analysis of DG impact on the network's protection in both distribution and sub-transmission levels.4. Proposing the solutions for protection challenges caused by the integration of DGs.5. Specifying the protective relays and considerations needed for anti-islanding protection to avoid out of synchronism reclosure.6. Specifying the effect of DG, interconnection transformer and distribution network groundings on overcurrent relays and fault recognition and proposing solutions where overcurrent protection in the DG side or the Network side cant clear a single phase to ground fault.
