While attending University of Washington, I worked for a van rental company. I learned about the industry--both what to do and more importantly what not to do. When I moved to Nashville, I saw the market opportunity for big group travel and tourism, so I set out to start a van rental company that was created from the perspective of a renter who has been frustrated with rental companies for years. I thought "Why do rental companies have brick and mortars when nobody likes the task of going to pick up a rental? Why are rental companies paying rent to create an experience nobody enjoys?" So I decided I would start a rental company that has no physical location and instead delivers all of our vehicles directly to our customers. We provide a delivery service that creates a far superior rental experience while also cuts our cost by not having rent to pay. I made a list of all the things I hated about renting a vehicle. Gas fill fees, additional driver fees, waiting in line after a long flight, dealing with pushy commission-based rental agents, hidden fees, limited miles, etc... I threw all that in the trash. And that was the recipe for Archer Van Rentals. Honest rental process, high quality vehicles, and repeat customers. A couple years into business and we are the highest Google-rated van rental company in Nashville with plans to open our second location in Austin, TX soon!
