This included both commercial due diligence projects and strategy consultancy, using a combination of consumer research, data analysis and competitor and market research, to help turn insight into profit. I also have extensive political experience having campaigned in local and national elections and having won a seat on Oxfordshire County Council. I was quickly promoted to the executive and given responsibility for the portfolio for Adult Social Care. Under my political leadership the directorate improved its CQC rating and in an independent survey by the think tank Demos, the directorate was ranked 3rd best in the country (out of approx 150) at protecting the most vulnerable from the effect of necessary savings.After being re-elected in May 2013 I was promoted to the role of Cabinet member for Finance.
