As the Issue Editor of the magazine, I've been given the enviable opportunity to produce every issue from scratch – from ideation to execution of stories, overseeing editing, packaging and reworking stories, supervising design, managing people, handling monthly budget and envisioning and implementing the future goals of the product.

Job Responsibilities:Represent Marie Claire in the South of India by bringing in women’s issues and other topical feature storiesfrom the South to the magazine’s content.Envision and implement the features goals for Marie Claire. Assist the feature editor in making the newslistevery month.Strengthen the features section by bringing in new and powerful contributors for the magazine. Create abank of contributors and commission stories to them.Edit, rework and package stories.Work closely with the design team to make the stories visually appealing and to retain the identity of MarieClaire as a fashion and features magazine.Manage the lifestyle section of the magazine that includes health fitness, décor and travel by ideating,writing, editing and sourcing stories for the section.

Chief sub-editor/reporter, Sunday Herald, the Sunday special supplement of Deccan Herald, a leadingdaily in BangaloreJob responsibilities:Handle the art and culture section of the supplement.Bring in strong content to the section by identifying and writing features about people, events and placespertaining to art and culture.Edit, rewrite and package stories from contributors.Conceptualise designs, source visuals and implement the idea by working with the designers.August 2005—May 2007Sub-Editor/ reporter, Metrolife, the daily supplement of Deccan HeraldJob responsibilities:Identify important news and features relevant to the city readers.Write and edit features on city events, fashion, entertainment, health, fitness, food, books and films.Visualise the pages of the supplement and make the pages on QuarkExpress.

Job responsibilities:Bring out the weekly ‘Health’ supplement by identifying topical and interesting health stories, write, visualiseand design the supplement.Bring in powerful contributors for the supplement and commission stories to them.Edit, rewrite and package stories.Source visuals and design references and design the pages on QuarkExpress.Write features on city events, lifestyle, books and food for other supplements of the daily.
