As a federal prosecutor, I was a member of the Complex Crimes Unit and one of the district's Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Section (CHIPS) attorneys, with responsibility for investigating a broad array of both cyber and white collar crimes, including cases involving hacking, phishing, theft of trade secrets, click fraud, cyber threats, complex investment schemes, corporate fraud and embezzlement, securities fraud, and tax evasion. I was also part of the task force that led the investigation into a major bank failure. I have successfully tried numerous white-collar fraud and cyber/digital criminal cases and argued and briefed numerous appeals before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
